As a child, I often rode the routes with my father. Those days became my introduction to the family distribution business. I learned that success wasn't simply about delivering a product—it was about showing up, taking care of your customers, building relationships, and earning their trust.

After graduating from college, I followed in my father's footsteps and became a distributor in Manhattan. What started as my father's business had become a family tradition.

For us, the deli business has always been about more than great food. It is about family, quality, hard work, relationships, and service—values that have been passed down from one generation to the next.

My connection to Boar’s Head Brand began long before I ever entered the distribution business. Growing up on Long Island, some of my earliest memories are of taking a break from playing in the neighborhood and coming inside to a lunch table covered with deli meats and cheeses. They were always Boar’s Head, of course. My parents wanted the best for their children, and when it came to deli products, nothing else quite compared. We would pile our sandwiches high, finish lunch, and head right back outside.

Boar’s Head Brand has built its reputation on uncompromising standards and premium-quality products since its founding by Frank Brunckhorst in Brooklyn, New York, in 1905. Those same principles—quality, consistency, service, and pride in what you do—have guided our family throughout our years in the distribution business. From my father's first routes in Manhattan to Virginia Deli Provisions serving customers throughout Virginia today, our business has grown, but the philosophy behind it has remained the same:

My father, Lino Bordi, had already established himself in the distribution business in the early 1970s, selling Tropicana Orange Juice. When the opportunity came for him to become a Boar’s Head distributor, it was a natural fit.

In 1982, he began his Boar’s Head distributorship in Manhattan, serving neighborhood stores and independent businesses that shared his commitment to providing quality food to their customers.

Years later, I brought that same passion for Boar’s Head Brand and our family's commitment to distribution to Virginia.

Today, our company is Virginia Deli Provisions, a wholesale distributor of Boar’s Head Brand deli meats, cheeses, condiments, and specialty products. But our job goes far beyond delivering products.

Virginia Deli Provisions is committed to providing our retail and foodservice customers with exceptional service, product knowledge, training, merchandising support, and the personal attention they need to succeed. We are independently owned and operated, which means our customers aren't simply account numbers. They are our partners.
